Portable lighting

my garage has horrible lighting(2 50w bulbs). I was flipping through a Sears flyer and they have these for $30. Anyone have anything similar or something they would recommend?

I have another set that they are selling Craftsman Professional 1200 watt Quartz Halogen Work Light with Tripod

and let me tell you these puppies light up my one car garage pretty well (also heats up the place as all halogens do). I also have another set on tripods (the yellow ones from lowes/home depot) that are only 500W's per lamp

I got this one cause it wasn't that much more expensive and I get 200W more

For 30 bucks that's not that bad. I have been looking for something like this cause I find myself working just as much at night as I do in the day.

I got it from Sears for $15 as a Craftsman club member when it was on sale. You have to watch out as I tripped over the power cord and it fell on the front fender of my Civic and left 3 small 1 inch dents from the plastic knob! When it's fully extended it becomes unstable if you bump into it and I think it would be safer if you put sandbags on metal extensions on the bottom to keep it weighted down.

I have this one from Regent. Each head has a 250 and a 500, so you have unlimited combinations from 250 to 1500 watts. I looked for a long time, and chose this one becasue all the tubing is 2" which makes it a lot more stable than the standard ones you see all the time. The only thing I don't like about it is that the heads don't tilt down, so you have to lower it to work on the lower areas of the car. And it'll heat up a garage real well, too.

I have that exact model. Works great. Heat's up a lot, but you'd expect that with this type of light. Not to sturdy at full extension, you just have to be a little careful. Most of the time I've used it without the stand when I was painting my house. Picked it up for like $20 during a sale.
