Thumbs up Newest Garage mod is done... I love it!

Whoooo hooo It came in and it is installed..It is a Rapid Reel I have wanted a “good” Hose reel for a long time... I have had about all of the ones you can buy in “local” Stores, they were worth about as much as a wet paper towel… I am very happy with this unit, it is heavy and well built. I may have gone a little to far with mounting. I went with mounting it in the corner so that is easy to pull to either side of the garage and as easy to roll up as well. I mounted it on a 2X8 and boxed it in on the top and bottom with another 2X8… 3 inch deck screws hold the 2X8’s to together and to the wall. Then some 2in lag screws hold the reel bracket to the 2X8. I wanted the reel to be very sturdy when it is full of water.. It is I used it tonight and it is a hose reel dream come true..

Nice work

I have the same hose. Thing is no joke...You cannot mess it up even if you try.

Good Luck with it.

BTW: Does anything even touch the ground in your garage other than your vehicles ?

Question...I'm going to be building a garage and noticed you have a different kind of water supply hookup. Is this the type that won't freeze in the winter and if so do you or anyone else know where I can purchase one? Really like your hose setup!

Where do you get the Rapid Reel? I too have tried most of the in store reels only to come to the conclusion that they are all worthless.

Yes this is the kind of set up that drains to underground when you shut it off. I did that so if it does get really cold there is no worry of the freeze. I bought the Hydrant at a farm supply store. They don’t cost much.

Now, how do you plan to reel the how back up when it is on the ceiling?
