| I used a 'single stage' epoxy. It's called 'single stage', but it actually takes 4 steps to apply it: Degreasing, Etching, Priming and, finally, painting.
I put it on about 3 months ago (on a weekend - there is a waiting period after you apply the primer) and, so far, it has stood up really well and is easy to clean. My garage is 24'x24' and all the materials cost about $100 (Cdn = ~$75 US). I bought everything at Home Depot. The paint guys there were extremely helpful and knowledgable and this was their recommendations.
