Commercial Grade Vinyl Tile

I have used some cable and shower curtains to make it easy to wash a car inside my two car garage. This makes it very easy to wash the car in bad weather or at night. The slope of the floor is sufficient for the water to run out of the garage. The curtains keep everything else dry. When not using them I simply pull the curtains to the end of the cables.

After looking at a lot of options, I think that I would like to finish the floor (now bare concrete) with commercial grade vinyl tile. However, I do not want to lose the capability of washing in the garage. Does anyone know if it would be workable to use this tile, getting it extremely wet once a week or so?

Tile of this type usually gets rather slick when wet. We have it in our office and it is very dangerous when wet.

I agree with Lost Pup. I slipped and fell in my kitchen vinyl floor. They are too slippery to be used here. Have you consiedered Ucoat-it? That is my current dream for the floor in my garage.

I used a 'single stage' epoxy. It's called 'single stage', but it actually takes 4 steps to apply it: Degreasing, Etching, Priming and, finally, painting.

I put it on about 3 months ago (on a weekend - there is a waiting period after you apply the primer) and, so far, it has stood up really well and is easy to clean. My garage is 24'x24' and all the materials cost about $100 (Cdn = ~$75 US). I bought everything at Home Depot. The paint guys there were extremely helpful and knowledgable and this was their recommendations.

It might be worth a look.
