Painting Chrome?

I have a black 4runner and it has chrome bumpers. I wanted to see if anyone knows if it is possible to paint over chrome. Will there be bonding issues? Im sure its possible, but could any problems come from it?

I want to go all black, its just more my style.

(moderators, i didnt really know where to put this so move it at your liking)

Are you going to do it yourself? (you a pro etc etc). I know it going to be a little hard to keep the paint stick to it well, but I can see it being possible if you prep the surface well. I painted over metal before but not chrome itself. Your best bet would find some real chrome and see how well it reacts to it.

your best bet is to have the chrome stripped first, then paint.

Oh ok, hmm, If you take it to somebody good it should hold up well if the painter has prepared the surface well. The only problem I can see is if somebody taps you on the bumper. Not sure how the paint will react to pressure.

Sandblast it first, then follow up with the normal prep work. This will do fine.
