Unfortunately when the truck was halfway up the ramps would slide forward. And its sucks that the ramp only has one square rubber piece at the bottom and not on the other end. Any suggestions on preventing the ramps from sliding forward? Should I just drive up the ramps with some speed and have my left foot on the brake at the same time to prevent over travel?

Make sure they are both the same distance from the front tires and then roll up 'em at a couple of MPHs. They'll always slide away if you're too slow.

Luckily the car wasn't damaged. I can still do most of my undercarriage detailing laying on the ground and I change my oil with my extractor. | |

The Rhino Ramps are a widely-accepted alternative to jacking the car up.

You could also put some grip tape on the floor where the bottom of the ramp is placed, this will help keep it from moving.

Join Date: Apr 2002 Location: Omaha Posts: 238 | My garage floor is really smooth and the Rhino ramps slid all over the place. I put a couple of concrete anchors in the floor for 1/4" bolts, drilled a wooden 2 X 4 and used phillips head bolts to hold the board at the front of the ramps to keep them from sliding forward. I can easily remove the board with a phillips screwdriver if I ever need to. This worked fine til I tried to put my son's Prelude front wheel drive on the ramps and they tried to slide back toward the car. I then went out and got some self-adhesive non-slip stair pads and put them on the floor where the front and back rubber pads of the ramps sit. They have never given me any more trouble, except that they are a bit low for a guy with a bit more waistline like myself! Tough choice - get taller ramps or lose weight - oh the agony!
