Post Power Boxes and Industrial Carpet

Closing on my new gara.. errr house end of next month and want to dive right into building the garage. I've already planned on going with industrial vinyl tiles due to the ease of replacing individual tiles and also debating a car pad to protect the tile in winter, any ideas there?

I'm planning on going with 4 sets of 8' flourescent lights in the garage (typical 2 car garage) and 4-6 can lights for a workshop area to one side (planning on storing one car in garage). I can run the wiring through the attic but I'm trying to decide how to get it all wired and to a switch. I'm likely going to put a breaker box in the attic, 1 breaker for the flourescents, another for the cans then run metal piping (painted to match wall color) to switches that will be outside of the walls (don't want to mess with drywall). Anybody have experience doing this I'd love to hear tips or writeups, etc.

For the workshop I want to put industrial grade carpet down since I won't be parking on it. I'm not exactly sure how to put carpet down on concrete so some tips on carpet types and how to put it down would be great.

I'll be posting pictures of the progress, can't wait
