promo code for garage-toys.com ?
Howdy Y'all,
I'm getting ready to place my big order for all the supplies to put down EPOXYShield Professional Floor Coating in my new garage, all from garage-toys.com.
Their site has a place to enter a 'promo code'.
Anybody know a promo code for garage-toys.com ?
Cheers,
Ian

Is this different than the Rustoleum Epoxyshield you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes?

No. It's the same. The problem though... is that Home Disappointment doesn't carry much of the stuff, let alone all they have is the clear coat and the garage flooring stuff. I need the whole package: - EPOXYShield Professional Floor Coating by Rustoleum
- Epoxy Shield Anti-Skid Additive
- Epoxy Shield Heavy Duty Degreaser
- EPOXYShield Decorative Color Chips
- Epoxyshield Concrete Etch
Lowes only carries a lil bit of it. I've been to Ace, Lowes, home depot, a local hardware store... same story...
** I'm now looking at skipping over the epoxy stuff and going for POR-15 Floor Armor, which is a solvent based urethane. Urethane is what the expensive guys like Premier Garage use! Much better. Twice the price of the stuff I listed above. But, much better. Less work. EPOXYShield is cheap and (some people) can get it @ the store. Better stuff you have to 1) find it and 2) order it.
But, given all the horror stories with EPOXYShield, I only wanna do the process ONCE!

Most Lowe's stock a good selection of the EpoxyShield and they have tint bases in the kits that can be tinted in quite a few colors...

UPDATE: Skip the POR-15! Turns out there are some serious issues with hot tires pickup, esp. when it rains. Turns out that the heat of the tires, the water, and the pressure pull up the POR-15. There's talk of a class action against the company because of all the issues with the product and the company.
SOOOOO... I'm looking now at epoxy-coat.com
The saga continues.

Just in case you didn't find these forums already... The Garage Journal Board - Powered by vBulletin
They have a whole section on garage flooring.
Someday I would like to do my garage floor. But first I'll have to rip out the slab and repour it. It all slopes in and to the walls.

Re: promo code for garage-toys.com ?
Just a thought since your doing research anyway...
I came across a product by Sherwin-Williams called EnviroLastic. It's a coating used for bridge decks and industrial floors. It seems neat in the sense that it is elastic. The one version has 425% Elongation, +3,000 psi Tensile. It might be worth checking out. I really don't know all the details about it so maybe it won't work for a garage floor. I haven't gotten around to asking over on GJ. I didn't find anything on a search over there.
Here is some links...

Re: promo code for garage-toys.com ?
Have you looked at Ucoatit? Lot more expensive then Rustoleum but had some good press on Junkies forum.....
I used the regular Rustoleum 4 yrs ago. Still looks good with no lifting, wish I had put a cost of clear on it.... There is a difference between the regular and the "Professional" Rustoleum. The regular is water based epoxy and the Pro is solvent based.
Did tons of research... It's just like detailing......... prep, prep, prep and more prep!
Oh and try WCC for a code?
