Paint removal help

I sprayed VHT niteshades about 6 months ago on my car. I think it looks horrible. I tried using mineral spirits to remove it with NO LUCK!!! Id like to know what is going on LOL. How come I cant remove this simple tinted paint? Anyone have any suggestions. Some guy who works on returning old headlights etc to new told me hed charge me 200 bucks to remove the stuff... I dont understand why or how it could be a difficult task. Please help

Re: Paint removal help

Here is a quote I found on an FAQ:

Q: How do I remove VHT Nite Shades Lens Tint?

A: Usually a little lacquer thinner on a clean lint free cloth will take it off. If the tint is more than 3 months old, it may be baked into the surface and normally will not come off.

From:

VHT Nite Shades

That being said, I'm sure you can sand and polish it off. Here is a thread that will give you some tips:

thats my situation - 6months to be exact. So i guess will not come off means unless you sand it??? What grit sandpaper?
