How to fix - gasoline spilled in garage, spots are lighter than rest of garage!

My buddy just moved into a new (to him) house. He apparently spilled some gas on the garage floor while filling his mower, and now the spots where the gasoline spilled are much lighter than the rest of the garage floor. Is there anything that can be done to make the floor look better? Thx

He could try etching the floor with acid to see if that helps, or, he could wait until the area gets dirty again.
