Saw them on some home improvement show a month or so ago. Don't buy them from Griot's man, if you really want them your local hardware will be much cheaper. But I am with everyone else in just using some sturdy plywood. And if you are using them in a garage make sure your attic space was made for the weight and storage. I see tons of people put too much crap up there and that is how your roof system gets jacked up.

Home Depot sells them as well as the precut 2X2 ply.

Thanks for the responses.

I was looking into them for my attic in the house. Thinking it was a better alternative to make temporary walkways in tight areas and that they'd be easier to move around.

The good thing is that they are lighter than plywood and easier to get up in the attic than a 4'x8' peice of ply.

I prefer plywood over the thing sold by Griot's. The thing from griots has slots shich will make sliding boxes around much harder. Also, small things will fall through the slots. They aren't strong either. They are rated at only 200 lbs. per square and I weigh 250 lbs. You will need to do a lot of special cuts to fit around vent pipes, plumbing, etc. The Griot's things can't be cut without weakening them.

I think that plywood would give you a small amount of R value as well.

Those things are way overpriced. If a 4x8 sheet of ply is too heavy buy smaller sheets.
