Finally starting garage (PICS)

Well there it is in all its glory, small I know but that is all the space we have as we also have a double garage behind that (now a games room) lol!!

Just got to start on the ceder cladding and slating the roof.

hey every little bit of sheilded space helps. I have only a one car garage and it's tight with my heater, air compressor, Halogens, rolling tool box and some other stuff.

I hope to move into a place with at least a 2.5 in the spring.

My plan is to have everything at the top as its 6.5m long the car is only 4m so gives me a good bit of manouverability.

That's something to keep in mind up front "manuverability". Doing any type of work in tight spaces on car can be hazardous.

Nothing sucks more than nicks and dings you put on the car yourself.

I was wondering about the sill plate. Any wood that is in contact with bare concrete should be pressure treated. Did you put some type of water barrier between the sill and the concrete? I like the site built trussees, cool.

Do ya know what zippy, I forgot about that, I guess Ill treat it myself.

Need to cut the dry wall just shy of the concrete so it doesn't absorb any moisture during the floor being bare and paint if you get what I mean.

Ill keep you guys updated, just need a good day to sheet it all and start on the roof.

I did not mean to rain on you work. It looks great so far. You could just shim some strips of tar paper in between the sill and the concrete. Or use a foam sill sealer like the one make by Owens Corning.

Just checked this afternoon, it has it, Its just a little wider than the sill sitting on the concrete, hence why I never saw it.

PHEW!!

OK, well not a lot has been done.

I borrow my dads builders and joiners to keep cost down and the quality high.

The roof has been sheeted and the roofing felt applied, some strengthing but thats about it.

A door is waiting to be put in and three windows, then the up and over door.

This is where the door will go and also a glimpse of the baby.

I may sheet some of the roof inside for storage.

But thats it so far!!
