Karacher PW Issues

Well just in time for Winter when I really need it most my Karacher Electric PW (K 3.97M) has something wrong with the pump. Once it builds up pressure it starts to cycle off and on like it's gonna blow up. Damn I just brought this thing in Febuary.

Well I have 3 options.

1) Take it to the local authorized repair facility (10 mile drive to the other side of town)

2) Do a rapid exchange w/ Karacher (they send me another one up front and I send this one back. Takes 5 to 7 days

3) Say Fluck it and get a Craftsman Clean N Carry on sale at Sears, where I got this one from.

Any opinions would be welcome. Also chime in if you've been through this.

TIA

When I was in high school and worked at a golf coursel we used karcher electrics to wash the carts. they all did that sooner or later, and our boss would just keep going to costco and buying more of them, only to have the same problem. i wish i could help more but i can't

Nothing's made to last anymore, so I wouldn't count on that Craftsman, either. I just picked up my 7 month old Sears dehumidifier (really nice, made in China) from warranty repair, and the guy at the desk was telling me I might want to buy the extended warranty before the year was up because "they only last about a year". My old one, only broke once every 5 years, and the second time I didn't figure it was worth fixing.

I'm feel'in ya on that one dog. Up till now I've had pretty good luck w/everything. My Sears Hu-midifier even has lasted me 3 winters so far.

I'm thinking maybe I'll do this rapid exchange thing, but it's a gamble either way.

My Karchers were nothing but trouble. I'd get the Sears one if only because it's easy to get Sears stuff serviced.

Just get me going on their dehumidifiers though We run three dehumidifiers and it seems like they go bad pretty often. Not like Oasis brand ones from the old days that would last for decades.

Three dehumidifiers and that's in Ohio! Unless I had a ceiling mounted model, there would probably not be enough to cover down here.

I have had three Karcher units and all did this. The same part always seems to go bad and my dealer here fixes it for around $20. If you bought it from costco, they will take anything back if you want to exchange it.
