Sealing out debris and dust when it rains

I'm in an apartment with a garage. Everytime it rains water, dirt, leaves, trash, and anything else will just flood into my garage.

I live in Texas so it's about every week or so that this happens.

Do those strips of rubber that the garage door clamps down onto really work? Are there any other areas I should worry about dirt coming in besides just the bottom? Most of the dirt seems to come in on the corners of the big door.

Any help on this preventative maintenance problem is appreciated.

Thanks.

If you are talking about the rubber strip that squishes into a fat bubble when closed yes they work. Most need to be repalced every few years. Water under a driving wind will still come through though

Home Depot also sells a weather stripping kit for the top and sides. It's worth the $40 cost or so.
