I never tried either one but informercialratings.com gave the Flavour Wave 3.5 stars and NuWave 4 stars. I'm sure they are both as good, anything beats a microwave.

Re: Nuwave or Flavour Wave oven...

These ovens seem like a decent idea just like the Ronco showtime rotisserie, LOL. It just never caught on. I only say seem because I never tried one and don't plan on it.

I upgraded my black and decker 4 slice toaster oven after 15+ years of service (remember paying $27 for it from Macy's back in 1992 or so) a few months ago with a Costco bought Oster model that cost ~$70 I believe.

This is my counter top oven.

Being a lot bigger than the Black and decker it takes a little bit longer to toast bread but I eat a lot so instead of 4 slices then 2, I can do all 6 at once.

Besides that this thing kicks butt! Saves me gas and energy from turning on my big range oven just to re-heat a few slices of pizza, bake a batch of brownies or cookies. The thing even fits the Tombstone pizza that is 12" or so in diameter.

Re: Nuwave or Flavour Wave oven...

I have a NuWave Pro and am pretty happy with it. I bought it because it had a digital timer and stainless steel liner. I usually just use it to heat up 2-3 things in a meal, not like cooking Turkey's or big dinner things although you can definitely do that. My understanding is NuWave started out as the Flavour Wave and after a few years the owners parted and created two slightly different ovens. Both work well though.

It seems to take about 4x longer to heat things to the same temperature in the NuWave as a microwave. It also heats up your plate so you need something to carry the hot plate once its finished. You'll probably also want to get an accessory with it called an "extender ring kit", which many places include with it.

Beware if buying online from NuWave! They charge a crazy amount for shipping, like $35-45. There's a Yahoo group at
Infrared Oven Discussion Group
where you can get more details, find the best prices, etc. Even though its an infomercial product its been around awhile and works well.
