Need some input on the new total swirl remover 3.0 and finishing polish 3.0. I'm about out of IP and FPII.

They are on sale at autogeek and looking for something to replace them or just buy IP and 85rd to try out.

Also considering 105/205 out of curiousity but don't think I need 105 based on my soft paint on my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder.

What are your experiences with the twins and how to they compare to other polishes? What are they similiar too?

I got a Wonder Washer for micro fiber cleaning

I've been looking for a way to clean my micro fiber towels without having to run a full wash cycle for just a handful of MF's. I don't wash my MF's with any other items and just seems way to wasteful to run my massive washing machine for 10 or 12 towels. I searched around and found a few options out there and eventually I got one of these off of E-Bay for $50 Image: http://www.washing-machine-wizard.com/images/the-wonder-washer-21109360.jpg

I gotta say, this thing is cool. I used it for the first time the other day and was able to wash 10 MF towels and 3 buffer pads in one shot, I probably could have fit more in there, but that's all I had to clean at the time. It's very simple to use and seems to be really gentle on the towels. I just dumped a pack of Snappy Clean powder into it, filled it with warm water and let it do its thing for 15 minutes. When it was done, I poured the water out, filled it with clean warm water and then ran it again for a rinse. After that, I hung the towels up to dry as I usually do and the end result was nice, clean, soft towels.

If your a pro and need to wash more than 10 or 15 towels a shot, this is probably not the best option for you, but if your like me and just a hobbyist doing your own cars and the occasional friends car, this thing is great.

FPII or 85RD

I plan on following up 203 with either FPII or 85RD (grey Pad). I just cant make up my mind which is better.

Will the FPII work just as good if it is followed by KAIO (green) and Collonite 845 (red)?

I noticed some people are going straight from 203 to KAIO or even the 845. How would that work?

Menzerna steps

After reading much of the good advice, on this site I have a few questions. I am trying to figure out a detailing solution for my cars. One (black) has slight watermarking and oxidation and the other (white) is in much better shape only having minimal spidering from washing. I dont know which of these products for each step will be best.

Steps:
Intensive Polish or Power Finish
Final Polish or Final Polish II
Finishing Glaze or Klasse AIO
Collonite 845

I was also thinking about maybe using a 105 (Meguiars) as a first step, unless the Intensive polish or power finish remove the need for it.

What will be a good maintenance setup, can I get away with just the 845 or do I need to KAIO and 845?

hydrotech orange pad, and menzerna power finish

HTorange -
I head rumors from Ryan that it doesn't like soft paint...well, I'll confirm that rumor! tried it out on a honda today, the pad literally almost stopped spinning where other pads blazed through! It was really grabby and sticky, kinda hard to control! I can see where this pad would work really well on a harder paint. However, with that said, the finish was much better with one pass with menzerna power finish with a hydro-tech orange than a green uber with menzerna power finish, but the green Uber flowed better and had much more control. So while the green didn't remove as many defects, it allowed me to work MUCH more comfortably!!

menzerna power finish-
What can I say besides thank you to Got_Leather (DJ MAYO) for turning me on to this product! Its really the best single step polish I have used!! cuts like SIP, finishes better than 205 in one step! I use FPII for a final polish, so while it doesn't beat that product, it is now my go to single step polish after claying!!! I will be stocking up on this product and letting go of my 205 stock!!!

my usually process was a combination of the following:
105
sip
205
fpII

or 105
205
FPII

......

now, I think it will be 105, power finish, FPII and I will achiece better than ever results!!!

Thanks to detailed image for the product, and DJ for the recommendation!!!!

What can I say besides thank you to Got_Leather (DJ MAYO) for turning me on to this product! Its really the best single step polish I have used!! cuts like SIP, finishes better than 205 in one step! I use FPII for a <a href='http://www.autopia.org/forum/autolink.php?id=439&script=external&forumid=16\' target='_blank' class='gal' onmouseover='GAL_popup(this,"1", 0, "style=\"border: 1pt solid #000000;\"", "Menzerna Final Polish PO85U is the original finishing polish made by Menzerna of Germany for use on OEM finishes to remove minor swirls and create a high gloss, reflective finish.

I'm going to be detailing my 370Z next month and I was planning on washing with Meg's Gold Class and claying with Meg's Smooth Surface kit.

I also wanted to polish, seal and wax the car. However, my understanding from searching is that some (all?) polishes have some sort of abrassive characteristics. I was thinking about using Klasse AIO to polish/seal. Is Klasse safe for a noob or should i go with something else? Will it scratch anything if I don't use it right? I just don't want to f' anything up.

I will be using P21S or Gold Class for LSP. Does this sound like a good plan?

*Wheel and Tire Cleaner:*
*Pro's:*
This proctected has a great smell to it. It does not have that strong chemical smell that P21S or DP Wheel Gel has. It is a great job getting the tires blakc again. It also works very well cleaning the wheel wells as well.

*Con's:*
Does not stick the wheels

Black Diamand Gel
*Pro's * Easy to apply, it has a great smell, does not fling off, take alot less product to cover the whole wheel then traditional tire shine.

*Auto Bath: *

*Pro's:*
This product is absolutly amazing. It has great cleaning power and smells like bubble gum. It also foams up pretty good in the bucket. I drove to and from FT Myers this weekend and the front of my truck had bugs all over the front. I used a Mother Woal Mitt over the who truck. And to my superize it took off the bugs with ease. My truck has not been waxed for about 2 months in the Florida heat and the Auto Bath gave it that just waxed look.

*Con's:*
Does not work well with Foam Gun or Foam Cannon

I apologize for the late reply to your email as I was traveling and only just returned. I am personally looking into your order and will report back to you shortly. A few months ago we moved all our warehousing and shipping to an outside warehouse who performed very poorly. About 80% of all orders shipped in a timely manner but the remaining were either totally ignored or were marked as shipped in the system but never were. I fear your order was one of the 20%. We've moved our shipping back in house but it's taking a little while to catch up on all the errors committed by this independent shipper.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and, I promise, you will hear back from me very shortly.

You have not followed up with me once, even though you have stated that you would 3 times. It has almost been over 2 months and not only do I not have any products but I can't even find out the status of my order. Please cancel my order and refund the charge that was placed on my credit card a month ago.

Sorry, I have no excuse to give you... only apologies. I asked the shipping dept. to look into your order and get back to you and to cc me the info. I don't see where this was ever done.

I did not receive any response from DF Towel after October 15 (the day I cancelled the order). My credit card has not been refunded either. I also called DF Towel at 866-DFTOWEL and left a message with my phone number, but haven’t received a call back.

This has been a horrible experience with this company, especially their customer service. I was very patient and gave them plenty of time to deliver, which they didn’t. To make things worse they didn’t even follow up to give me some kind of update, even though they kept telling me that they would follow up.

Will you please follow up to one of my emails? I'm not sure what kind of business you run, but the customer service needs a lot of work. I have not received a refund for my order. Please refund my credit card so I can be done with this.

Let's have another one!

What are your "core" or "I gotta have it" products?

Mine...

Car Soap: Chemical Guys Citrus Wash N Gloss.
Reason: Most other shampoos concentrate on being nothing more than a lubricant. CW&G actually has cleaners in it.

Microfibers: Eurow shag weave
Reason: I have yet to find a softer MF

Compound: M105
Reason: As most everyone knows, it's the most versatile compound around. Capable of serious correction while finishing down more like a medium weight polish.

Medium polish that you can finish with: M205
Reason: This polish finishes down *almost* as well as a finishing polish, while doing an unbelievable amount of correction, and it's *so* easy to use!

Finishing Polish: 3M UltraFina
Reason: It doesn't matter how soft the clear coat is, if you work at it, you can get UF to finish off amazingly well with zero holos. It is also the easiest to use (by rotary) polish there is. It just doesn't get better or easier than ultrafina.

Sealant based glaze: Danase Wet Glaze.
Reason: This stuff is amazing. It pops the gloss like CRAZY, does an amazing amount of concealing, and is almost idiot proof it's so easy to apply. One of my all time favorite products.

Oil based glaze: Red Moose Machine Glaze.
Reasion: This was a toughy, as there's a lot of good glazes out there. But when you need an all-around good glaze, it's hard to beat RMG. (Just don't sniff it... trust me on this... ;) )

Sealant: FK1 1000P
Reason: I have yet to see a sealant match 1000P's durability, looks, ease of cleaning.

Wax: Collinite IW (although it could really be considered a hybrid)
Reason: Same reason as 1000P, really.

Misc: ONR
Reason: It does soooo many things, and it does them all very well. Gimme two gallons of distilled water, a bucket, two ounces of ONR, two MF's, and I get a clean car, inside and out.

Well, anyway, those are my absolute Must Have products. Yup, there's a ton of other stuff I have/use/love, but when it comes right down to it, I GOTTA have the stuff listed above.

So a few weeks ago, I saw a thread and can't find it. The detailer had to use some sort of steamer with a triangular shaped brusch attached to it to remove what looked like years and years of smoke/tar color from the tan leather of an SUV or something.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
