New wheels and side skirts
Before (car's dirty, but it's the only full-length side shot I have from before the new wheels and side skirts):
After . . . I also debadged the S U B A R U that was on the trunk:

Here are a couple of shots of the wheels in a little more detail. These are 17" Rota Tarmacs in Steel Gray (really an anthracite) wearing Falken Azenis 225/45/17s. I love these tires . . . OMG sticky. They may not wear well, but for around $100 a corner, it's cheap fun even if they only last a couple of years. A friend of mine has gone through a year of daily (summer) driving and a season of autox in the street-tire class on the Azenis, and he's still got a fair amount of tread left, so I think I'll at least get my money's worth.
The wheel and tire package was just over $1k shipped, and was shipped mounted/balanced with chromed valve stems/caps and Kyokugen light-weight lug nuts. Wheels alone run around $550 . . .

Looks great.
I don't know why Subaru didn't paint them from the factory in the first place. Probably so they could get you to buy their ridiculously over priced body kit. My gf has a Wrx (thanks to my recommendation) I have been trying to convince her to get the skirts painted, though it is a lease, and the dealer would probably charge her when she brings it back. Even though he will turn around and sell it for more due to the matching side skirts.

I love Rotas. They look so good on so many cars. Excellent choice. Where did you order them from? I'm in the market for some wheels. I like the Katana Concept Five (Racing Hart C5 clone) look.

Oh Yea! Huge difference! Very cool! Subtle differences are the best. Very smooth and sleek. Nice wheels. Way cool tread pattern on the tires, too! I had great luck with Falkens

Jngrbrdman,
I got mine from Revolutions Motorsports; they're running an on-going deal on i-club. I didn't see the Katanas on their site, but they don't show the Tarmacs (my wheels), either, so they can probably get anything from the Rota line. You'll probably have to call for a price . . .

Thanks for the compliments . . . but, I wouldn't get too excited about the 2-pot brakes. The STi has 4-pots stock, and there are some insane brake kits out there (Willwood, StopTech) that make the calipers I have up front look like bicycle brakes. I know someone in town with the Willwoods; I'll try to get some pics . . .
You're right about painting the calipers; that's on my to-do list. I haven't decided on color, yet, though. Suggestions, anyone? Silver to match the car, anthracite to match the wheels, black, or dark blue are the colors I have in mind. I'm don't want anything too bright (just not my taste), just something that will look "clean".

Your car looks great! That is my next step with my rex actually... I'm hoping to have painted sideskirts & Rota Tarmacs on the car by July... along with Vishnu Stage Zero, Porterfield brake pads, SS braided brake lines, and leatherseats.com interior
I can't decide between the Kumho V712 or the Falken Azenis... how do you like the Falkens so far? I've got Toyo Proxes T1-S on the stock rims right now, and they are awesome... but I could've gotten the Tarmacs AND Kumhos for what I paid for just the Toyos!
