I finally got around to installing my tankslapper static cling clear bra (
The Tankslapper. A clear non adhesive tank protector for your sportbike.) yesterday. It comes in 3 pieces; left side, right side and middle. I had washed, clayed, polished (OHC, 4" orange LC pad via PC@6) and waxed (OCW topped with AW) the bike earlier in the week so I just gave it a quick wipe down with ONR mixed as a quick detailer and a microfiber.
Tools need:
Spray bottle with H20
Squeege (paid $1 for one from tankslapper)
Tankslapper
Microfiber towel
Install Process:
I misted the tank with H20
Then I removed the backing from the tankslapper (TS) and misted the underside of the TS material and centered it on the tank.
I then squeeged the bottom when I had it in proper postion to lock it in place and I worked my way up to remove any air bubbles. It takes some practice but since it is static cling you can lift it up and try again.
After the center piece was done it looks like this:

Yes I know my stickers are messed up. The bike came that way. I have to polish it again anyways since I just gave it a quick 1 step.
It still has some moisture underneath that needs to evaporate and it will look better. So far I think it looks good. Especially for $15.95!
I did not get a chance to ride with it let so I will comment more when I spend a few days with it.

The bike sat for a few days due to the rain. I looked at it last night and part of the center piece peeled up a wee bit. No big deal, I probably didn't smooth/stretch the material enough. I just peeled up a little and rewetted it so I could squeege it smooth again. I rode to work this morning. So far I like it. It has a little grip to it and is fairly hard to see on my silver paint. For under $20 shipped I think it works great. This probably isn't something you want for the track but for cheap protection from scratches for street riding I give it
