Re: Buying Tyres on Line

I only have bought tires online from Tirerack.
You have to find a place to install the tires on your car once you get them and there are some cost involved in that. You have to factor this in to your end price. I have had good experiences with them so I continue to buy from there.

edgeracing is 10x better than TR IMO. I've ordered from both.

Re: Buying Tyres on Line

I have purchased from Tirerack as well and they definitly get . As was mentioned earlier, you do need to take into consideration the cost of mounting, balancing, stems and also shipping. From my experience in buying higher tier tires they were still able to beat all my local vendors even with shipping.

If the price is right, I definitly suggest going for it as I have not encountered any issue.

Re: Buying Tyres on Line

'The problem with buying tires over the internet is that you have to pay for mounting, balancing, and flat repairs, etc. If you get say a $100 cheaper price off the internet and then are charged $12 per tire for mounting, $12 per balance and then $12 per flat you can quickly see that you don\'t really save any money. Also you don\'t get any roadhazard protection. I work for a large tire chain and have customers ask me about this and I tell them what I posted here. What it all boils down to is that the Tire Rack does not have to service your tires once they send them to you so they make money off you while you are stuck paying for all the services that you would get for free if you had bought from a local chain.'
