Rice Rice Rice
I wouldn't mind getting an older car to Rice out. I just want something to tinker around with and not have to worry too much about messing something up and not having anything to drive to work. Eventualy fixing it up to be a Rice Rocket. You know, Make it go fast, Sound like a buzz bomb, 6" tailpipe, NOS, body kit, lots of stickers :P
I want something that has a lot of stuff available to help customize it. What would be a good ricer to get?
I was thinking about getting a supra but even the older ones sell for a lot. What would be another good one to get?

I wouldn't mind getting a supra but the ones I've seen have been around 20k.
I don't wanna spend that much money on a car i'm pretty much going to rebuild...

How about a Miata
A friend of mine just bought one and I was looking into all the stuff that is out there for them. There are Superchargers and Turbochargers galore. Plus, it is a convertable.

The Civic would be the cheapest route. The only thing is that the first modification that a Civic owner wants to do is swap out the engine for an Integra GSR engine. Therefore, I would suggest getting like a 94 GSR and working with that. The GSR motor has more HP potential than even the Type R engine has. You can ask any teg owner that. If you want a real sleeper then get the GSR sedan and do that up. There is nothing finer looking in the Honda world than a generation 3 Ingegra sedan IMO. I was really happy with my Mustang untill I detailed a GSR sedan. I sold my Mustang and bought my GSR within 3 months.

I don't really like the front end on an integra. Something about it...
What about an eclipse?

eclipses are nice, cause you can get one with a turbo, and just go from there. but if you get an eclipse get either the gs-x or the gs-t. (those have the turbo's)
with the integra you could always do a a conversion, maybe to the honda integra from japan?
or how about a 240sx??? and then you can drop the silvia motor in. . if i had a choice to pick a nice looking older car to do up, and it had to be an import, it would be the 240. i think they look sweet.

If you're at all interested in the Eclipse (or Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser; all the same car in the 90's), check out http://www.dsm.org.

Really? The front end was what attracted me to it in the first place. I've seen some really nice Integras with the JDM conversion in front but they look just like a 1990 Honda Accord to me.
this is a link that doesn't seem to want to be a picture. It is the JDM type R sedan.

Can you see the "Accord-ish" look it has?

I'd never go with an eclipse. The reason for that isn't because of what is under the hood. The DSM engines are crazy fast. The reason I wouldn't touch one is because you can't see squat from the inside. They are really poorly designed on the inside. I don't even like detailing them. Driving is a huge pain because they are nothing but one huge blindspot. That is just my opinion of them. They are incredibly fast in a race though. I guess when all you want to do is go straight as fast as you can then visibility out the sides and back aren't as important, eh?
