Smile Head & fog light bulbs

After reading the Silverstar thread, I thought I would chime in. IMHO and testimonials on several other lighting and automotive forums, Silverstars are decent, but overrated.

I've tried several brands and for straight replacement bulbs, HOEN topped them all. IMO HOEN bulbs are the next best thing to HIDs.

Thought I would throw this out there as an option for Autopians.

Are they really worth the price if you want to buy a full set for the front of your car? About $100 for me.

I would probably get them to match OE HID's to the fogs.

Silverstars are far easier to come by. Philips also has new bulbs out called "Blue Vision"; They are whiter than Silverstars with a similar lumens output.

Thank you for the link, BTW.

That's really up to the buyer. For some it's not worth it, for others it is.

For me, I can't stand the way cars look with different colored head and fog/driving lights. The only exception for me is when you have yellow foglights (ex: Lexus IS300).

The advantage of HOEN is that they offer all bulbs that match in color.

I hope someone on Autopia tries these bulbs. :
