Just got new wheels in!!!

Wheels: MB Motorsports EXE II 17x7"

Tires: Falken Ziex ZE512 215/45/ZR17

These will be going on my "Super Silver" 2003 Hyundai Tiburon.

So far I've got one coat of SG on top of AIO on the 4 wheels. Aiming for three or four coats before I mount them. Should be on the car by Thursday...can't wait!

Thought I would share my excitement.

Oh yeah and I just bought the Meguiars brushes from autozone...hope they work as well as everyone says.

with the sealant on there i dont think the brushes would be necessary. I have AIO/UPPx2/poorboy's wheel sealant on my wheels and the brake dust wipes off with a dry throw away mf. for the trouble spots, a shot of quikshine makes short work of them.

nice wheels nonetheless though. are they a two piece wheel or are the bolts fake?

Neothin thanks for compliment. The wheels are not two piece...although I wish they were ($$$).

I really bought the brushes for other cars that I work on, just figured I would throw them in the pics.

Can I ask why you went with an all-season tire when you live in Louisiana? Why not a summer performance tire?

Of course you can. I was going to get max perf summer tires but the prices were higher and the reviews I read seemed to say that this was the tire for me. We get a heck of a lot of rain, sometimes ice, and there are sugarcane fields everywhere down here (which mean poor road conditions). Hopefully I was right.

If I have been misguided please explain.

Well I bought my first set of summer tires with my new wheels in August. I couldn't believe the difference there is in wet and dry traction over all-season tires. I considered getting all-seasons, but I'm glad I decided against it. I bought the Kumho Ecsta SPT by the way.

And now I've got my wheels/tires shining away in my living room, while I apply a few coats of UPP to them over the next few days. Then they're off to the storage closet, while my brand new snow tires do the dirty work over the winter.

Man, wish I would have know that before I bought the wheels. Everything I read was showing equal performance between the tire I had planned on and these Falkens. I think it is still going to be lightyears ahead of my stock 16's wrapped in Michelin MXV4's. Pretty sure the MXV4's were all seasons too.

Yeah the Michelin Energy MXV4s come stock on most Hyundais. I wasn't too impressed with those. I drove my neighbor's 2004 5spd Tiburon with those tires.

I did a ton of researching on performance tires when I was ready to buy my wheels. The SPTs were highly recommended, and I couldn't be happier with them. It's an Ultra High Performance Summer tire BTW.

Yea. I got tired of all the compromises required by "all-season" tires and bought my first set of summer tires in August too. Put them on a new set of AMG wheels, and am in driver's heaven! The tires are staggard 245/45WR-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 XL, in front, and 275/40YR-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in back. The wheels are staggard 18x8.5 AMG Double Spoke Bright Sil, in front, and 18x9 AMG Double Spoke Bright Sil in back. What a combonation! In winter, I run 225/60QR-16 Michelin X-Ice on my original wheels, all around.

I tried posting pics several times, but this damn site makes it very difficult if you have uploaded the pic before. I'll try it one last time:
