I think Nitrous is a good bang for the buck mod but you have to make sure the bottom end meets certain tuning parameters before you put it in. The reason for that is to prevent detonation.

I've been running nitrous in my Vette for about 7 years, both on street and strip. Of course, you have to understand that, being a bit over 250lbs (OK, 20lbs over 250), I only use nitrous on the street when I need that extra boost negotiating a steep hill.
