Most of the caliper paints work pretty well. I did all of mine with a 2-part epoxy paint and they have been looking good for three years now. I had to replace a rear caliper last year so I bought a can of spray caliper paint from Autozone and it's been holding up pretty well. The epoxy is a little more forgiving of surface contaminants. The spray paint is going to peel off if you don't get the surface prepped REALLY well. You should clean the calipers as best you can either way.

I'm guessing the brakes are a little small for such a heavy car. Either that you you've been autocrossing or speeding up and down some mountains.
I just upgraded my GSX Eclipse to the Baer Track kit. 13" rotors and BPR calipers from the 94+ Cobra. I'll be installing them this weekend.
