Did a little painting under the hood

I did a little painting under the hood today. These yellow caps on things were kind of tacky I thought. So I painted them a DupliColor red/blue Mirage color. When it is blue it really looks close to the color of the car. Much better than the yellow caps I think.

I cleaned the caps with soap and water. When they were dry I sprayed them with adhesion promoter to help the primer stick. Then I sprayed the base coat down. That part dried pretty quick. The color coat took a little longer to dry, but I got two coats on anyway and let them dry in the sun and then later in my garage. I masked off the seals and threads so tehy didn't get paint on them. I don't care if the threads are yellow since all you see is the top anyway. I'm going to color over the raised parts with black before I clear coat them. I might not even clear them. They look pretty good like this I think.

that is sound thinking. lol I need to get a winter car. Someone told me that I'll be glad I have the AWD when I have to take a drive up the canyon or something durring a snow storm. I asked him if he was crazy. I'm not driving that thing in the snow. It could get dirty! Sheesh.... what was he thinking? lol
