New wheels are on the way!

I managed to find a set of 2002-2003 Maxima SE 17s on Ebay for $350 shipped. The auction said that the wheels just have a few minor scratches, which I can probably just polish out anyway.

I can't wait to get them, and unleash my detailing supplies on them!

I went out and bought a bunch of new stuff for the wheels

Ignore the DVD player, that's just the box where I store my MFs. It's perfectly sized.

Now...I need to find a good picture of the 17s for a new avatar picture.

nice. and i guess with new rims you would want to use new applicators and towels so you won't scratch them, right? or are these new stuff going to be just for rims now?
i think i would do the same thing (buy new applicators and towels) if i bought a new set of rims. i guess that's what an autopian would do.

so what are you planning to do? get rid of the scratches, and then klasse twin them?

Congrats, Maxy....those weren't what you were originally looking for, were they? I thought you were going for 16's.

Yes I got all new apps and MFs for the wheels that will only be used for wheels. I may use them for other wheels as well, but once one of my applicators or MFs touches a wheel, it doesn't touch paint.

Since the auction said that there were some light scratches, I'll try to remove them with some 3M PI III MG.
Then I just plan on doing:
AIO
WG sealant x5 (24-48hrs between coats).

That's right. I was originally trying to get a set of the 16s shown in my avatar. Since I was bidding on a set of the 16s and the auction went up to $386+$80 for shipping, I stopped bidding on them. Then I saw an auction for these wheels with a
Buy It Now feature, for $300 + $50 for shipping.
I couldn't turn it down!
Even though tires are more for the 17s, the total cost of the wheels + tires is less with the 17s than if I would have gotten the 16s for $386+$80.

The Five pack MF's that you bought are available to CANADIANS at Canadian tire for $7.99 - pretty good deal for five of'em. they shrink quite a bit in the dryer!!

you like?

Those 5packs are $5.87 at WalMart. I don't know how that translates to Canadian dollars.

I haven't noticed them shrinking in the dryer.
Are you drying them on low heat? If not, you probably should be.

I do like these towels for the price. I just use them mostly for interior jobs and wheels, but I have some that are used to wash the car in the winter (QEW style). Those ones are used ONLY for that purpose, and they are washed by hand after every use.
