chrome or silver alloy?
I'm thinking about getting the chrome rims in my avatar pic.
I'm just looking for opinions on which set of rims to get.
The rims in the pic are 2001 Maxima SE 5 spoke 16s. They are also available (much more common) in silver.
Which do you like better? Here's a pic of my car and the two different rims:

Personaly I hate chromed alloys but I think that's more to do with tastes in the UK being fairly anti bling (well that doesn't included the chav/ricer community)
The problem with chosing alloys is it is very difficult to picture them unless you can see them against the car, either photoshopped or propped up.
It's going to be a nightmare to photoshop those alloys onto your car as the angles are all wrong, if you had some straight on pics I could have a bash for you to at least give you an idea.

again - chrome alloys are a no no in my book - again being UK based they are frowned on a bit over here.
I think that they only suit a small group of vehicles - hot japanese imports (integra's, skylines etc) and some of the SUV's look good too - F150 (i think) looks great with them from what I remember of recent US vacations.
I'm not sure the maxima would look 'right' with them. Also the silver will be much easier to keep looking spotless.
At the end of the day though - beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it is your choice...

If it's regular chrome rims, then I say go for chrome. I love bling...

I'm not British, but I do dislike chrome alloys.
I've always been a form-fits-function kind of guy. When I think function I think of lightweight, high performance racing inspired qualities.
I think chrome looks great but it doesn't look right to me unless it's protecting steel. To me, chrome wheels just look heavy, clunky and tacky.
But that's just me. I'm not a Bling kind of guy.
PC.

I know the angle of the picture is way off to really visualize the rims. But I don't have a good picture from the side. I can take one today though and post it.
I have really gotten mixed opinions on this topic. Last night I got "get the chrome ones" from everyone I asked. And that was 4-5 people. Now I'm getting mostly anti-chrome opinions.
If they were the same price and equally common, I would get the chrome ones for sure. But since the chrome ones are much harder to find, and cost more ($150/set more at least) it's made the decision tougher.

It's your ride. The big question is which do you like better?
Just to make things more complicated; ever thought of getting a set and having them painted in a custom color of your choosing? Titanium? Anthracite? Black? Purple?

Nice Photo Shop work! I was gonna say chrome until i saw the pics, now I say alloys, although i have nothing against the chrome factory rims, the alloys from the pic look a little more natural. Go with what you are gonna be happier with though.

Alloy all the way chrome DO NOT appeal to the color white look at the pics above. IMO
