Thumbs up Mini gets a brake job!

The Mini was at the track last week and I had installed Ferodo race pads for the event. In the process of switching back to the EBC Green street pads (and cleaning off gobs of black embedded brake dust) I decided to paint the calipers silver and the hubs black. I removed the pads and hung the calipers in place and sprayed the calipers with caliper paint.

The hubs were originally a boring and inconsistant dull gray paint and the calipers a bare silver metal.

It looks pretty nice now. Hope it stays that way! Too bad it's not a "pretty" caliper like the Brembo's on my Carrera.

How do you like the EBC's? I always hear bad things about them but have never ran them. I run Axxis Metal Masters on my hatchback and AEM (Nissin) pads on my coupe.

I like them a lot. I can feel no pedal difference between these and the Ferodo DS2500's. I just made the $150 assumption that the Ferodo's would have less tendency to fade so I got them for the track.

The EBC's are great stoppers and super low on dust output.

It must depend on the car. I had the Green EBC's on my Miata and they were horrible. They dusted like crazy, didn't improve pedal feel and didn't stop the car any better than the OEM pads. I currently have their sloted and dippled rotors and they are too very disappointing. The hats on the rotors rusted with in weeks of purchase. I will never buy another EBC product again.

That is what I was hearing about them as well. i heard they dusted like mad, were noisy, and did not last long at all.

Looks Excellent. Painting the calipers really completes the looks of the rim and tire package.
