Painting Brake Stuff
I have a red GTP pontiac.. I am changining the brake pads and painted the black of it red... Looked cool in a picture so I thought why not. So I tape off the pad and spray it with high temp engine paint. Anyone ever do this?
Considering painting my calipers too.. Not sure on red or black. They are flat black now..

I thought the calipers are supposed to be painted with brush because of the spray paint migh clog the smaller moving parts....
maybe I am wrong, but my housemate did it with brush.

Something I've had sucess with:
Callipers:
A way to spice up the look and at the same time protect the callipers from corrosion. The Calliper Paint System (G2 Manufacturing Inc. Colorado Springs) it features aircraft quality paint, available in six different high gloss colours, Red, Yellow, Blue, Silver, Black, & Purple. The paint is heat resistant up to 932 degrees; this paint won't start running into your brake pads, it also seals and protects against corrosion.
Brake dust and dirt will not adhere to the calliper surface since adding the paint. The kit includes everything you'll need to get the job done, besides paint you'll also get reactor (special bonding agent), high tech calliper cleaner, mixing sticks, and a brush.
~Hope this helps~

yep just got my crossdrilled rotors and carbon fiber pads on. thinking about using the G2 system because if i used a spray i would have to mask off like half my truck. plus i tend to think that spreading w/ a brush might give more even coats.

Never heard of anyone painting their pads before. I used the G2 system on my calipers just two weeks ago. I think it came out awesome and would highly recommend it!

Very Nice SuperSport:
How did you do the Camaro part? Is it a vinyl decal, or did you do like a stencil? If it's vinyl, are you afraid that it will melt?
Looks great!

Thanks! It's a brushed metal decal from afterthoughtsauto.com. It's made to hold up to the high temps, plus they got alot of good recommendations from various message boards.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing on my car. Where did you get the G2 kit?

A friend of my got it for me as a Birthday gift. He called G2 and ordered it directly from them. They also have a link on their site to retailers that carry it.
