quiet exaust
Hi all, I currently have one of those fast and the furious fart mufflers on my car, and I guess I'm finally aging out of rice . I am going to take it off, but I want to go the other route. I want a mega-quiet exaust, or as quiet as possible. I still have my factory muffler, so I can just put that on, but I was wondering if there any mufflers out there that is quieter than factory?

I've got an 18" resonator and a Vortec turbo muffler (2.25" pipe) on my Accord and it is very quiet at cruising and freeway speeds. Moderate rumble at idle and not real loud at full throttle...in fact, my cold air intake makes more noise when I get on it.

If you want quiet, reinstall your OEM muffler and resonator (if that was removed too) and that's pretty much as quiet as it gets without adding more restriction.
Well, I guess if you want it quieter you could always see if you can find a larger resonator, but the factory ones are usually already fairly large.

Yeah I'll probably just go factory again. I did have my resonator removed, I thought it would make my exaust louder but it in fact just made it sound nasty. I'm going to put the factory intake back on too, no more AEM. I'm just growing tired of problems with aftermarket parts, so I'm putting it back to stock.

Magnaflow cat back. I got my Magnaflow cat back for $300 shipped and I love it! Never gets loud at all or "ricey" sounding.

Magnaflow does have sound files on their website at http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound.htm
I love my Magnaflow catback. They are quiet at idle and low rpms but do open up quite a bit at higher rpms. It is a mellow deep tone. Also, don't be scared off by prices you find on the net. Magnaflow changed their policy about on-line pricing. Call a Magnaflow dealer and get pricing.

Cool, yeah they sound nice. Sounds much more sporty than my current muffler. I'm really not looking for that much deepness though. Heh you have a sports car thus a deep exaust, I have a Civic so I'm trying to get away from sportiness and concentrate on keeping the paint shine, and college.

They don't get as sporty sounding as the site files. Those might not of been on stock Civics. Mine comes with a resonator and a muffler and by the time the exhaust note gets out of the tail pipe you don't even notice. I would not go back to stock exhaust if I was you. They always seem to be too restrictive and you can lot beat the look of a nice shiney chrome exhaust tip. Oh, another cool this is that the Magnaflow exhaust tips are not the size of coffee cans. See mine here http://www.autopia.org/gallery/showp...papass=&sort=1

Ah ok, that's your civic. I've seen it before when browsing through the member's gallery. Looks great man, I especially like the tail lights. I'm not fond of the new civic's tail lights, and I don't like the chrome altezzas, but on black the black altezzas look nice. Well I'll look around at some local shops and price the Magnaflow exhausts, haha I just realized I did't spell exahust correct in my other posts, doh.
