Talking do i qualify as an autopian?

Hopefully true to the mindset of those that visit here i bought a new set of rims/tires today, and brought them home and promptly applied 2 coats of mother's carnuaba wax to them! I'll treat the rubber with 303 when i put them on tomarrow.

qualify?

here is what is going on the eclipse.

Good Choice on rims/tires/detailing supplies.

However, not to knock you, but I have had great success using Klasse on my rims. It really keeps the dust to a minimum and guards better (IMO) against the elements, not to mention the amazing shine ir produces. Just a suggestion...But the 303 will look great on the low-pro tires.

Be sure to post pics when they're on!

the carnauba may not last long, maybe try Meg's #20 if you don't have Klasse.

i know the consensus here is to put a syn wax on rims for the very reasons mentioned above...but i didnt have any. and honestly i still dont know which syn wax i want to try in general. so thats mainly the reason i threw the mother's on.

wow, 10 coats!!!!! they look awesume though!

cheers,
C.T.

Arrrgh! Can't wait.... till.... spring.... must get.... 17's...... ggggggghh.

Seriously though, all these flagrant displays of aftermarket wheels has me chomping at the bit! I've got a set of 235/45 tires all wrapped up with nowhere to go.

Congrats on your new purchase, and let us know how you like those Hankooks. I'm always curious about lesser known tires.

this will be the 3rd set that i have run or have sold to to a friend. and with 6000 miles (1 roadtrip and regular commuting) i have to say that i have been quite impressed with the hankook brand. i get them *almost* at wholesale as well, so that helps a lot too. but they have preformed very well indeed.

we all know about Bridgestone (god-like tires), Goodyear (overpriced), Michelin (wicked too expensive) and so i have been running the lesser known tires just to see how they compare. For the average non-auto-x i would higly reccommend this brand (especially the K102)

they go on my car tomarrow afternoon when i secure my hub-centric rings....wooo hoo (-:

C.T.,

Synthetic waxes will last much longer and are more durable than any carnauba due to carnaubas low resistance to heat and high evaporation tendencies. After a few heat cycles and a couple weeks on your wheels the carnauba will be gone.

If you don't want to get something "high quality" online as suggested, you can use something like Nu Finish available anywhere and is very, very cheap. I've done this many times.

For the record, I now use Meguiars #20 simply because I have it available in abundance. I've also used Klasse and Zaino with great success.

BTW....sweet setup!
