Question Continental Tires??

Whassup people,

Couple of buddies of mine have Continental tires on there trucks. They both say there smooth and quiet and have a 80K mile warranty on them. I found some at Wal-Mart for $76 a piece. There the LT/SUV tire. Does anyone have these on there car/truck???? What do you think about them???

I believe the Continental is what they put on lincoln navigators from the factory (atleast used to) so they obviously must be a good luxury-type ride.

they make some of them down the road from me, used to think they were an off brand, then I bought a Mercedes, came with contis. Most BMW's come with them, mine came with Dunlops though. For that price it seems like a good deal

Check Tire Rack.com to compare, they have write ups on all tires, lists the best and worst features, lot of good comparisons

My wife's last Mercedes had them. They seemed like good tires.

Higher end Porsches often come with Contisport Contact 2 (or whatever the hell they're called, I *LOATHE* Continental's naming system) - supposedly excellent tires.

My bmw has contisports made by continental, but they are a z rated performance tire. They only last about 30K miles - but this is a different type tire than you are referring to.

I had continental's on my last benz. My new one has Michelin.

A side note about Continental, they also make General and Uniroyal.

I have Contiental tires on my stock rims and they are terrible. Traction, wet or dry, is very poor. They get loud at times too, and two of them have a "dimple" in them, adding to the noisiness. I wouldn't buy a set of them again.

Continental Conti-Trac SUV tires came OEM on my Escape. They seem to be pretty quiet, and have pretty good grip on dry roads, but in the rain they are not that great. I have about 14,000 miles on them with no signs of wear yet. I don't know if they are any good in snow/ice.

Continental tyres are quite popular in Europe for car tyres and are pretty well thought of.

I guess Continental like most tyre firms make some good and bad tyres. Therefore it would depend on a specific type
