I would not say "ricey" Everyone uses that word anymore whenever someone customizes a car not to their taste. Aluminum wings I do consider rice though...especially on a fwd with 90 ponies. haha But I do know that I could not drive that car cause I get dizzy just looking at the interior.

Personally having some very good asian friends, I think the term "rice" is deragotive. They feel it associates tackeyness with Asian vechicls/culture. I mean I see alot of people with confederate flags everywhere on their trucks/cars and shotgun racks but I don't call them "racist white cracker" mobiles because alot of people do hunt here hense the shotgun rack and while a confederate flag isn't my taste owning one doesn't necessarily mean you are a bigot. I do agree that SHO has basically turned into a webboard composed of rude teenagers though, and it's funny because most of the members on SHO hate "rice" as much as this messageboard does lol.

It looks more like a parade float than rice. I love custom cars, but that is just tacky and grossly overdone. I can appreciate the work that has gone into it, I just think the work should have been spread out over 12 cars.

I don't understand how calling a car "rice" is derogotory. There is no ethnic group that is referred to as "rice". The connection is that many of the overly accessorized vehicles are originally built by japanese companies. I hear asian people calling these overly decorated vehicles rice just the same as anybody else. They used to be referred to as "jap-scrap" which I do find insulting but I guess the term was dropped when the quality of asian vehicles exceeded the quality of US cars.

I also have never heard the term "racist white cracker" used to describe a vehicle but I do hear "Mullet Mobile" a lot. Should all white people be offended by this term or just the mullet equipped?
