Getting new wheels

I am in the process of getting some new wheels. ( Konig Tantrums) they are silver. I was just curious what people to to protect the wheels? Is there some kind of sealant wax that one can use on them safely?

There is a such thing as wheel wax. Most of us here just use our Klasse or Zaino to protect the wheels. Its not going to make them bullet proof or anything like that, but it will help keep the brake dust from sticking to them. Do a search on 'wheel wax' on google and see what you come up with. I honestly don't know of any stores that carry it. I've never looked to hard I guess.

Where did you get the wheels at? There was a little 'accident' with my wheels last weekend and I had to replace two of them. I got a smokin deal at www.onlinetires.com. I don't know if you've already got a hook up or anything, but that place impressed me. I thought I'd pass it around.

If they are silver, they are probably painted and clear-coated.

Sal Zaino recommends the exact same treatment on wheels as he does automobile paint. (except clay)

Start with a Dawn-wash.

Then apply your favorite polish or wax. (probably 2 coats). I actually polish the back side also. (when I rotate).....

Water will bead on them and they will resist brake dust and dirt.

BTW my wheels are a Konig Tantrum Clone......Motegi Racing MR7.....

Thanks for the replies. I was actually looking at the Konig Tantrums myself. However they have been discontinued. I will try the klasse I guess you were referring to the AIO?

Also what are a good set of high performance tires that are not to noisy? I am looking at Kuhmo 712's at the moment. or P7000's. but am open for opinions.

Actually, I used both the AIO and the SG on the Maxima's stock rims.

Did you check out Bridgestone Pole Position S-03s

If you're looking for Konig Tantrums, the Motegi Racing MR7 is virtually identical and CHEAPER......

They come in Silver, White, Gunmetal and Chrome......

Available at any store that sells American Racing Wheels.

www.tires.com still has the tantrums. Looks like they are about a buck seventy per wheel. Discount Tire has always been a really good place to get wheels. Even if they don't carry them normally, they can usually find them for you. Plus they are local all over the place.
