Anyone get aftermarket bulbs to upgrade stock halogens?

My BMW stock bulbs are pretty bright. I would like something that is whiter and brighter, and that runs at the same voltage so I don't fry my wires (55V)

Some choices are:

PIAA
Sylvania's
Phillips vision plus
BMWXenon - replacement halogen bulbs (bmwxenon.com)

What do u think?

I've used the Sylvania Cool Blues and Silverstars and have been pleased with both of them. In my opinion the Silverstars are a little more pricey than they should be. $50 for the pair seems to be kind of high. I bought 9006 bulbs and then modified them for my 9005 sockets. That was the only way they were worth the price. The Cool Blues are worth it at around 10 bucks per bulb though. They aren't even blue. Very white light. Much better than stock.

My buddy has a pair of Sylvania's for his Maxima and loves them especially for the price. (It was right)

piaa

The PIAA bulbs burn at 51 watts, but have a 90-100 watt brightness. They are white, not the blue hue. They have them here in Toronto for about 110.00 bucks. I bought some 9006 " Toucan Industries Inc." bulbs for about 27 bucks that burn at 55watts pure white, and much better than stock.
I have an Accord btw.

When my cheap ones burn out, i'm going for the good PIAA ones!

Cheers

Looks like for the bmw the phillips are the way to go...but they are a bit brighter but no whiter. I also want that whiter look.....

PIAA are expensive......cool blues for my car are no brigher than stock....just whiter and bluer. BMW factory halogens are damn good.....

Considering I was in the same dilemma several moons ago, this is what I am looking at. Initially, I kicked around buying some PIAA Xtreme Whites for my high beams and some Super Plasmas for my fogs. However, I have changed my mind at least twice and have now settled on Eurolite Fusions for the high beams and PIAA Crystal Ions for my fogs.

From what I have seen, the Eurolite Fusions are whiter than even my HIDs.

I just ordered a set of Sylvania Silverstars for my F150. I got them for $15.00 each on sale. Can't wait to put them in...

I have the Philips Vision Plus on my e39. It's obviously brighter, but the whiteness stayed about the same. It cost $40 from the UK.

The BMWXenons look pretty tempting. They are expensive at $105 though...

Can you tell us where you bought the eurolite from? Is there an internet site that you suggest?

From what I saw about the eurolites.....they do LOOK like the xenons....most reviews rave about the way they look, not brightness. I am after brightness primarily......I tend to stay away from the bulbs that are coated blue....they limit the spectrum of light discharged

Eurolight

The eurolight is what i purchased from Toucan Industries inc.
They are on the web under that name.
If you want brightness, the PIAA's are the way to go.

Have you thought about spending the bucks and just going for a true HID conversion? That's the first thing I'm doing in the spring. You can get a good kit for less than 5 bills. I'm tired of monkeying around with bulbs that look like HIDs. I'm ready to go back to the real deal. I've got a couple good links to where you can get some nice HID kits somewhere. I'll have to find them for you if you are interested.
