Superchip

I just ordered a superchip for my truck.

Gonna make it so it'll run 92 octane and take full advantage of it. Some people are saying they got like 29hp out of it. like 40 ft/lbs tq.

Some have said it'll drop .3 seconds off your quarter and a few have said they've gotten more. I'm really excited about it I even paid for overnight shipping

Hopefully be installing it tomorrow. I'll tell you all how it does. At first it'll be at like 80% efficiency (sp?). It takes 500 miles to get it up to 100% power.

Gonna drive on it for a few weeks, then pull it out, drive witout it some, and then put it back in to see the difference

I just installed it. took about 45mins. Had to remove battery and the battery try to get to the computer plug.

I can notice a difference with the shifting. I can't feel any powerd difference but I'm not good at feeling that. I'm gonna run w/ a friend tomorrow to compare to see how big of a difference it made.

Premium gas is friggin expensive! It cost me $30 to fill up my tank today! I'm gonna have to stop being heavy footed now.

I changed the entire ECU in my Accord in about 20 minutes, since it is under the carpet in the front passenger footwell. No real difference (I wasn't really expecting any), but I am not now limited to just 115 mph. Of course, since I swapped ECUs, I haven't been past around 100 or so. Just no opportunity to see how fast my car can go...but it had plenty of pedal at 115. Maybe 130-135 or so. Stock EX Accords could do 127, and my car ain't stock!

No chips for Accords. You have send the entire ECU off and comments by others on Honda boards are mixed. Some say they lost power, others say they gained power. I may try the H23 ECU (the dual cam version of my engine) since it has better timing and a more agressive fuel curve. Others have had good luck with this mod. Heck, I may even swap in the entire H23 engine if I keep the car long enough. An extra 35 hp over the engine I have now and my header, intake, pulleys, etc will all work with it.

Let us know how your improptu race turns out.

to feel any real diff with a chip you gotta have a turbo...
But it is nice to have the speed limitor gone- so long as your tires are rated for it..

It took 30-40 miles before my ECU optimized itself to my header. That's when I really noticed a difference. I am at the point now where I need a fuel pressure riser to get more fuel into the engine.

HAR HAR HAR!

This new chip is killer!

I ran against my friend who has a '95 F-150 w/ the 302. His mods include the Super Chip, Cat Back exhaust where they actually removed one cat, Cold air intake, smaller tires that bring his rear diff to a 3.43 on the road, and ingnition system upgrade. We lined up and didn't powerbrake or anything. Light turned green and we just hit the gas.

All the way through first he pulled on me. He has more low end tq than I do (His peak tq is about 1500 RPMs lower than mine) and his rear diff is higher than mine. It is a 3.43 where I have a 3.08.

Well, by the top of first he was about half a truck length ahead of me. Into second he stopped pulling and I started pulling hard on him. By the top of 2nd the nose of my truck was right infront of his truck and it kept pulling through 3rd. Truck really pulls in the higher gears now

Can't wait till around january when I put in my 3.73 or 4.10 rear end. Probably go with a limited slip because I plan on adding a supercharger. (of course if I am able to afford a lightning I won't be doing any of these mods

Also, the shifting is awesome now! To make F-150s shift smoother the engine reduces about 40hp right before it shifts. Well the chip go rid of that reduction and also makes it shift harder. Before when it shifted between 1st and 2nd you'd feel the power let up, feel it shift, and then it started pulling again. It did it real slow. You could almost feel it do every step. It also did the shift at 40mph at WOT. Now, it shifts at 45 at WOT and it pulls all the way to the shift and makes a little "thump" like sound and blows into second almost at peak TQ.

This was worth the $250! (chip was $225 and overnight ship was $25, I couldn't resist the overnight

If anyone has an F-150 or expedition, then I recommend doing this mod. PM if you want to do it and I'll give you the number of the guy I ordered it from. He sells it cheaper than MSRP.

I'll be filling up soon and testing my MPG w/ the chip. Before the chip it ran between 12.5 mpg and 13.6 mpg

Until you quit playing with your new found power, your mileage is definitely going in the crapper. Anytime I added any performance modifications, my mileage really suffered. I finally figured out it was because I had to constantly be trying out the improvement.
After a week or so, mileage goes back to normal.

Charles

LOL, I'm not driving it too hard. I'm actually driving it less hard now, than I did before the chip. Damn premium gas
