Restoring some wheels.

Alright guys, i just picked up some good old supra wheels for my ae86 toyota corolla. And they're painted bronze. So i plan to paint strip them and then sand them down.

So i did a test spot and basically, the 800grit sanded area has a brighter silver with more reflection and the 2,000grit sanded area is darker and sorta has a dull chrome finish. Is this normal? I want the wheels to be really shiney. I know that you gotta have a dremel with some polish to get them to shine really good.

heres a pic of what the wheels look like(these are not mine). Mine are painted bronze and have paint chips everywhere. But no bends or curb rash at all.

Here is a picture of what they look like after 800grit:

I know you can get a crazy rediculous chrome look out of them if you polish them up with a high speed dremel or drill after sanding with 2,000 grit. But is it normal for the sanded area to be sorta dull greyish looking after sanding it down with that high grit?

Heres is what i am trying to get my wheels to look like:
