Thoughts on attacking this wheel?

I got a dirty pile of crap in today to bring back from the dead!! 3 of the wheels are not too bad but this one is nasty. Caked on brake dust that has been there for years!! I normally use something called Powerbrite for wheels but it didn't do much on this wheel. I mixed it at 50/50 like I normally do and scrubbed the heck out of it. Any thoughts on products you have tried?

What's under the brake dust? Chrome? You could clean it the best you can then try a clay bar or chrome polish on 0000 steel wool.

It is a chrome wheel, my apology for not mentioning it!

Re: Thoughts on attacking this wheel?

Start gentle, then get aggressive.

Try soap, water ,and a brush.
Go to degreaser or a wheel cleaner for anything left.
Clay what remains, if anything.
Try a metal polish and dremel or power ball.

That doesn't look that bad actually. Now if that was German black brake dust I would have just told you to give up now

Re: Thoughts on attacking this wheel?

Get a bottle of duragloss's wheel cleaner. Should take about 30 seconds to clean that wheel to a bright shiney new finish.

you might have to use 803 on that but 851 should get most.

Duragloss Wheel Cleaners
