Re: Caliper Painting

I used the G2 caliper paint. It leaves behind a very tough, hard, smooth and glass-like coat. When you brush it on you will see brush marks BUT as it dries it levels out naturally which was a pleasant surprise

also in that pic your calipers are alum or painted and easy to maitain

27 year old steal is a different story

That's great that there isn't anything you have not had your hands in on your car A+ Also yes, I can say I have had my hands in my car and there is a ton more being done this spring including adding another 100 hp, new rear bumper, new sides, new front lip, polished plenum, polished cold air intake, front camber kit, 5/16 spacer etc etc.. but that has nothing to do with what I was saying. Go ahead and read my post again and you might see some big letters that say "my OPINION." I thought that might be easy to see but I guess not.

My bad we are all on the same team here
and we are going to have to agree to disagree about the paint
as we are all allowed our own opinion

best of luck with your mods
sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way

very close... 487 hp & 735 tq
that was the "old motor" before I fed it too much NO2( actually not enought fuel)
and cracked a rod and bent two others

the "new" motor feels like it has a bit more TQ
but I have a bunch of suspension work to do and other stuff to worry about
before I put her back on the dyno or get it to the track

Re: Caliper Painting

Thought I'd contribute my DIY caliper paint job. G2 caliper paint off ebay: $37. brake cleaner from autozone: $5. Total work time: 3 hrs. Quality time with my baby: .....priceless

Apologize for some of the blurry pics...

FRONT

BACK

AND SIDE TO SIDE.....(did anyone catch that reference?)

Now i just need some bigger rims and drop it like its hot because, yes i know, it looks like its on stilts ...

Re: Caliper Painting

Nice...good color choice on the car rather than the extreme flashy colors that some do.

I like the simple gunmetals, gold/bronze, aluminum, black and reds.

Re: Caliper Painting

so you guys are liking G2 kits over the Duplicolor kits? I sprayed some cailpers 2 weeks ago with duplicolor and they sat out in the shop and I went to touch them yesterday and I noticed some of the paint came off onto my hand, a few spots looks like it just flaked off

With proper prep on my calipers, for about 4 months, my caliper paint has held up fine.........
