Re: what's everyone been listening to lately?
For years I've been asked who my favorite band is? I used to respond by saying "I don't know, I have a few favorites like Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith & VH". Now that I'm in my mid forties I've finally figured it out. Not only do I have a favorite band but I think I've got my favorite song of all time as well. A song that makes me stop what I'm doing and just listen and appreciate the music. Throw on a set of headphones, sit back in a comfortable chair and close your eyes. It's not just a song, it's an experience. I'm not talking from a psychedelic, drug induced state of mind. I play piano and I'm speaking from a musical perspective. For me, it just doesn't get any better than Pink Floyd's "Shine on you crazy diamond".

I'll try to avoid being my typical music snob here, but I listen to pretty much anything good... and I know what good is.
Currently I've been on a Decemberists and Shins kick. Still love breaking out the Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, or LCD Soundsystem for some fun upbeat tunes.

sublime everything under the sun box set. hours and hours of musical enjoyment. I find lately that I listen to a cd too much and end up throwing it out the window at high speed.

Re: what's everyone been listening to lately?
I was a huge U2 fan, back when they were young and vibrant. They have been replaced with Interpol, one of my favos. But like the other "patrick", still a huge 80's fan of VH, Led, Floyd, Bad Company, .........it never ends.
