Re: Sarah Palin
I think if you look at why we're in the crisis we're in today, the Democrat cronies bear the brunt of the blame.
Clinton expanded CRA; Acorn got millions; banks had to make loans they wouldn't make previously; FM and FM (with Democrat cronies running them) bought the bad loans to increase bonuses for Raines et al (and even then they had to cook the books to justify the bonuses); and Republicans warned in 2005 and 2006 to stop the insanity and put restrictions on FM and FM. Frank and his cohorts chastised the Republicans for trying "to fix something that isn't broke" and blocked the legislation proposed.
Housing market slows and guess what? Our economy gets crippled while Raines et al go off into the sunset with 100s of millions in $$$$$$.
I'd rather have a run-of-the-mill student with common sense (and smart friends) run the business rather than a Harvard-trained student that has no business experience WHATSOEVER.

If you wanna run the country like a business, as is so apt for the republicans to do, do you hire the guy who could barely graduate from school? Or do you you hire the guy who graduated MAGNA CUM LAUDE from Harvard. I'd pick the well educated guy as he stands a much better chance of getting it right. It's no guarantee but it's the best you can do. But strangely enough everything in politics is topsy turvy because republicans want to run the government like a business, but hire their not so intelligent bar buds and cronies as their corporate officers. Then they wonder why they failed badly.
A response I've actually gotten from this is that the democrats are too busy bickering to get anything done quickly. Well if you study how the founding fathers designed the government you'd know the bickering was built in. I still think the irrational gut decisions of this still President Bush were among the worst disasters ever, especially if you look at it in the business sense as republicans seem so apt to do.

Actually, if you were running a business and making an executive hire, you'd hire the guy with experience over the guy with the degree. The guy with the degree might get in the executive training program, but he wouldn't be walking into the corner office until he's proven himself.
Additionally, i don't think I'd limit that "not so intelligent bar buds" comment to the Republicans. Have you heard Home Depot Joe Biden lately? And as far as hiring cronies, there's plenty of funny business going on on each side of the aisle. Didn't I just see that Biden has been paying family members, as well as himself $2 Million from his campaign funds? Biden Steered Campaign Cash To Family Firms
There are few clean hands in this campaign, and to assert otherwise is just plain wrong.

Re: Sarah Palin
To me it comes down to would I want her with the nuclear codes? The answer is hell no. I trust Tina Fey more with those than Palin. I just don't think Palin is the brightest cookie in the cookie jar.

Re: Sarah Palin
At least I hope Joe Biden knows that the earth is more than 4000 years old. And knows what the Bush doctrine means?

Where's your source that she said this? Back up what you say. If you can, I'll give you credit, other wise I call foul.
There's much debate on this. Some say the earth is about 4.5 billion years old while others say it's around 6,000 years old. Whatever it is, I didn't know this was about a history lesson.

Re: Sarah Palin
I guarantee you Joe Biden doesn't know what the "Bush doctrine" is, because there is no such animal. People use that term to refer to about a half dozen different positions Bush has taken. The question when asked resulted in Palin asking, "In what way?", to which Charlie Gibson replied, "What do you interpret it to be?" Palin replied, "His world view?" and Gibson stated, "No the Bush Doctrine as stated in 2002 before the Iraq War."
So he defined it as "preemptive strikes are OK"....others interpret it to mean such things as "privatizing Social Security", "warrantless wire taps", "Gitmo", etc.
Kind of like asking, "So what do you think of the Joe Biden theory of government?"
WHO KNOWS?

Fair enough detaildoc. Although you must admit that Palin is better looking.

I won't dispute that one. Seeing her and Tina Fey together on SNL was hot.
