Invalid comparison. None of those named were American war heros. I don't believe we had any issues with Washington, Grant or Eisenhower when it came to a transfer of power. I know there were numerous other military leaders, but I believe the others had held other political office.

Teaching Con law prepares you for nothing; I can tell you that over my 30 years of practicing law, if I've learned one thing, it is that the law changes depending on who is interpreting it. If Obama had been a student of Con law, he would have realized that warrantless searches, wiretapping and suspension of habeas corpus have all been done before and are legal under many sets of circumstances.

McCain has consistently campaigned against torture.

And why do people always say "Obama will do a better job/is more qualified than Palin"? Obama is running against McCain.

Mike (Simonize for the win!)

If he wasn't an Admiral's son he never would have gotten into the Naval Academy much less a Pilot's slot. He graduated what, 4th from the bottom of his class. Those slots are reserved for those who graduate at the top of their class.

So true and he has no clue about working hard for a living. Remember who his wife is ? Mrs Heinz Ketchup and you don't meet people like that in normal circles.

Would that be Nixon? Who hung out with Communist Chinese leader Mao Tse-tung? Or would that be Reagan, who supported "freedom fighters" Osama bin Laden against the Soviets in Afghanistan, and Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran? I'm just trying to get some historical clarification.

Say it isn't so! Next you're going to tell me W. only got into Yale because his father went there...

"Losing an aircraft" is not the same as "crashing" one. He had a crash during training; he had to eject from a plane that had "failure of an internal part"; his plane was one of the ones destroyed by rocket fire on the deck of the Forrestal; and he was shot down over Hanoi. There was an incident where he struck some power lines, but returned safely (which he wrote about in his book).

Do your research.

Let me guess....are you a veteran?

Mike

Here is something I find telling. It was reported that the outfit Cindy McCain wore to the Republican National convention cost over $300,000. How can people like that claim their priority is to look out for the middle class? It makes me wonder what they consider the middle class????

Vanity Fair: vanityfair.com

I am sure I will get labeled a screaming liberal for my comments but let me say I have been a Republican as long as John McCain has been in Congress. This is the first time in my life that I have even considered voting Democrat.

He got in because his grades were better than Kerry's.

Mike

By the way, remember the great job the "nuke-ular scientist" did as President? Jimmy Carter graduated in the top 5% of his class from the Naval Academy, IIRC.

Do your research.
The LA Times did this research a couple weeks ago:

"The 23-year-old junior lieutenant wasn't paying attention and erred in using "a power setting too low to maintain level flight in a turn," investigators concluded.

The crash was one of three early in McCain's aviation career in which his flying skills and judgment were faulted or questioned by Navy officials.

In his most serious lapse, McCain was "clowning" around in a Skyraider over southern Spain about December 1961 and flew into electrical wires, causing a blackout, according to McCain's own account as well as those of naval officers and enlistees aboard the carrier Intrepid. In another incident, in 1965, McCain crashed a T-2 trainer jet in Virginia."

But I guess that must be "liberal media" slant. They did note that his piloting skills improved later in his career, allowing him to be posted to the Forrestal in 'Nam.
