Re: Obama or McCain?

Perhaps one of you can educate me as to when we gave our captured POWs US citizen civil rights/trials while the war was still going on?

I just don't recall that.....but then again, I'm only 60.

Cite away, smartest lawyer in the world.

Under what scenario do un-uniformed guerrilla fighters qualify for rights under the Geneva Convention? When do they get their "day in court"? If they blow up a Humvee and kill 10 Americans in Iraq and are then captured, do they get speedy trial rights in your state or are they held as POWs with possibly a military tribunal?

With any luck, your fear (and fear mongering) will pass and America will still be great and the gates of hell will not be unleashed upon us all.
The boogie man was a childish, irrational fear; fear of what Obama might do is a rational fear shared by at least 57 million American adults.

What a freakin Joke, I was staying hopeful for our new pres. but this is making me sick to my stomach to think they want to give these human waste civilian trials for war crimes.

Read Scalia's dissent in Boumediene v. Bush to see how far we are bending over backwards for captured terrorists -- you'll be sick for days.

Isn't this exactly what I said you do... you take LEGAL DECISIONS and read them backwards! Again, which law school?

Are you aware that in Boumediene v. Bush there were more than 20 Amicus Curae briefs in support of Boumediene? Are you aware that the American Bar Association was one of them in support?

Do you know why that is? (Wait, don't answer, it's rhetorical because the answer SHOULD be self evident!!!)

I shouldn't be called on to educate you on the most rudimentary reasoning. I suppose by your logic, the constitution offers no right to privacy either.

Yes, you're right, putting a true intellectual in the Whitehouse is much scarier than 8 years of this

Re: Obama or McCain?

The Constitution does not have a right to privacy...5 liberal justices found one that was not there.

Mike,

Can you please send me your business card?

In the event I ever need an attorney in FL, I want to make sure I know who not to use.

This thread has DEFINITELY run its course. If you can't keep it civil, I will continue to close them and then ban members if it gets out of hand.
