Re: Obama or McCain?

I'm going to write Ron Paul on my ballot, then I will focus on local politics.

The problem with EVERYONE (politicans) is that they are FOS.

Thats why debates like well McCain says this and Obama says this are pointless... Bush promised to balance the budget!!!

Re: Obama or McCain?

Promisess promisess, This election reminds me of the South Park episode where they had a vote for class Pres., and the candidates were a turd vs. a douche. I think truly that Obama represents the blue collar worker, and that be me .

Re: Obama or McCain?

Any thoughts on the Obama ad tonight?

I think since I like Obama, I'm a bit biased because I thought it was brilliant on many levels, so I called one of my closest friends and staunch Republican (although he does not like McCain). In any event, he seemed to agree with me.

We had debated about it today, thinking it might be "over the top" and too much, but I think it was tastefully done, never mentioned McBush and probably convinced some undecided voters.

Anyone else see any irony in the Republican candidate whining about the Democrat "with too much money" to spend on ads?

Re: Obama or McCain?

Big Apology to all I offended. Especially THOOO1. I should not have made such a statement. I get really tired of people saying they have black friends. Well, so you have a few black friends. Point being, if you have never been in my shoes, you don't have a clue as to what I have gone through as a Black Man in white America. I do not hate white people. But to most I'm another word which I will not say. That is all most blacks will ever be to most whites. I am successful and I have and do work very hard to be an upstanding American. I do not always agree with what happens in this country, but I deal with it, try to live at peace respect everyone. Reguardless of race, or prosperity level, and help those I can. I was never so fortunate to ever receive a hand out, free schooling, food stamps, housing. I think in my 50+ years I got unemployment for a few weeks because I was laided off from a job. I have always worked and paided for what I wanted. No freebees for me! Sometime 2 fulltime jobs, and is was not to feed a bunch of kids. Illegit! I only have 1 by my wife. I have never lived off the system!

Have a Great Day I'll be here. THOOO1 I'll be talking to you .

Please, everyone: Keep the thread about the issues, and keep it civil. It *is* possible to disagree about politics without the discussion turning to flames (even on the internet!), but it's up to you. Are we going to have the same partisan bickering that goes in most internet forums, or rise above that petty crap and have some rational discourse? I know which I'd prefer, both as a moderator and a participant.

Re: Obama or McCain?

I thought the commercial was well done. Very slick.

I was surprised how much he used real people to tell a story rather than dwell on himself. In the beginning he said he would spell out his program in detail so I was expected a lot of talking about specifics (Hilliary would have going on at length on details) but just showed others making do and not trying to wrap himself in a flag with duty, honor, and country as if it is owed to him.

I have retorted on some of your posts and I hope you did not take any offense to any of them. I will never walk in your shoes as you will never walk in mine. I have seen a lot of what you are talking about as far as the struggles you have been through and I could not imagine what that is like. I grew up in Maywood, Illinois and went to Proviso East High School. Google it and see the things I have seen. I still have friends that live there both black and white or as you say American.

My older brother actually was friends with Fred Hampton and he sat at our dinner table with us on more than one occasion. I am sure you are aware of what happened to him and his friends in Chicago!

God Bless you for the commitment you made to your family as I have to mine. 28 years to the same women, 2 kids 16 and 20 and I grandkid! Hard to accomplish in this day and I am not patting myself on the back.

It will be a very long time in this country before we ever reach racial equality. As I have said before, I have no problem voting for a J. C. Watts or a Lynne Swan. But to me voting for Obama, is a vote for the WRONG values that I have, it has nothing to do with with race. Peace be with you and I hope you don't hold it against me if you felt I made you feel bad. If you ever come to San Diego PM me and we can have a beer or 3 together!

Dave 40co
Have a Great Weekend, no hard feelings here. I hope as I said that I did not hurt anyone's feelings. That is not my intent. There is enough hate in the world. I don't need to add to it. At this stage in my life I'm trying to build up ,and lift up people whatever race. Help those that can not help themselves. Everything is GOD'S anyway. He just wants us to be good stewards over that HE's given US!
Be Blessed All, and have a Great Weekend! Be Safe

Dear WW,

I wanted to let you know that I post at various other auto websites. At each of them, I have posted pictures of my use of the Mother's power ball to clean my exhaust. I have told all how I invented the idea and that someone at autopia is trying to take credit for my work.

The Zaino slur stands!!! In fact, I think I'm going to send Sal a nasty email on account of this discussion! Also be advised that I have copy righted and trademarked the phrase "balee dat". This is the second time you've used it without paying royalties. Consider this a cease and desist letter. Further violations will be met with a severe monetary damage award against you, and you can BALEE DAT!!!
