Re: Obama or McCain?

What I find especially damning is that he was once the golden child of The Daily Show with more than 10 appearances, and now he is the butt of their jokes. He wouldn't go on that show anymore because he has changed and flip flopped around so badly it makes John Kerry look decisive. McCain was a media darling, now he's a subject of attack. Shouldn't that tell anyone that he's changed and is not the person we should have in office.

His choice of Palin already shows his ignorance and probably hints at his misogynistic past. As he probably thinks a down home, moose hunting, pretty woman would get out the GOP base and women voters, like killing two birds with one stone. He certainly didn't pick her for her experience in VP stuff because even she said "What exactly does VP do?"

Indeed it is, and I'm sorry I missed it the first time around. ShowroomShine, that was really uncalled for.

Please, everyone: Keep the thread about the issues, and keep it civil. It *is* possible to disagree about politics without the discussion turning to flames (even on the internet!), but it's up to you. Are we going to have the same partisan bickering that goes in most internet forums, or rise above that petty crap and have some rational discourse? I know which I'd prefer, both as a moderator and a participant.

Re: Obama or McCain?

I thought this thread was just a simple vote. Maybe we should start a different thread to argue about stuff?

Voting for the lesser of evils still results in putting "evil" in power. Furthermore, due to escalation you will just perpetuate an increasing bad selection of "leaders" only making it worse every cycle.

Re: Obama or McCain?

A friend of mine's husband said he prayed over the situation and when he got into the booth, he wrote his own name in for POTUS.

Mike (doesn't go to church with that guy)

Re: Obama or McCain?

I think Obama should play McCain in a game of hoops for the Presidency. Game to 11, losers out and Obama spots McCain 10, Obama only gets to use his left hand.

Okay fine... bad sport. How about soccer, moving like a penguin isn't necessarily a detriment.

Mike
I have a friend with a retarded goat that has a better handle on the Constitution than Palin.

Hey... BTW, how about no discussion about the fact that Palin's aides are dumping on the McCain camp, trying to distance herself from them, in case they lose, so she still has a shot at being one of the "Washington elite" she so despises.

Re: Obama or McCain?

I voted ! It is nice to be a state where we seem to count.

Biden and Palin were here last week, McCain last night, and Obama and Michelle (both in a different city) today.

Hey Ohio..we are coming up...
