Re: Obama or McCain?
BTW, doesn't anyone think it odd that McCain is saying "help the home owners, not Wall St." and talking about buying bad mortgages and spend, spend, spend... while Obama is saying "McCain's plan is too expensive and too much spending".
I think someone needs to remind these guys which parties they belong to.

What you mentioned is not the same. I would not expect you to understand. But it is amazing that we can even discuss these kinds of things. We all have a right to choose what we prefere. BTW I still read Rolling Stones, good reading. I converse alot and I do like to know that what I may quote is at least something that I have read or heard on the box. I don't believe everything, nor do I really trust the media. 1 Man can never run this country on fix the mess that has taken it's toll on this country. 1 Man has never run it by himself anyway. The main problem has been greed. If the leaders would use integrity and honesty alot of what's going on would not be happening anyway.

I am voting for the candidate that is the most intelligent, well-spoken, organized, level headed, realistic, prepared, individual.
I am not voting for the candidate that is dumb, unorganized, out of touch with americans, makes rash, dangerous, and reckless decisions.
Does that help?

Editor of the Harvard Law Review. You don't make it there because of the color of your skin, by your last name or by daddy's donation. You ONLY get there if you're smart, real smart, so I guess Obama.

I really like that lawyer joke.
McCain is not a bad guy but Palin is not qualified to be VP let alone President. US citizens,, this country needs a lot of help for the next 2 to 3 years and no matter who wins we need to stand together to make it better. If not, we are going to be a second rate economy and we all suffer. We may have to accept a lower standard of living.

How do you judge qualifications? Palin in MORE QUAILIED then Obama... (depending on how you judge it)...
Things that scare me about Obama...
ACORN
ACORN
ACORN
his intense liberal views (which have been tempered since becomming Democratic nominee)
However after the last presidental debate (in which McCain suggested buying out the housing market) I cannot vote for McCain either....
I will be damned that I lived in my means while my neighbors didn't (and often didn't have the nice things that they did) and now my money gets to go bail those people out too...
I don't know how it is in the rest of the country but Florida isn't sensible. More people who make 10-12 bucks an hour working in Disney drive around in C classes and 5 series... I have no plans on helping these people out...

It is not much different around here. I see kids driving cars to school (c class, range rovers, etc). Many people will live beyond their means as long as someone will give them credit.
I can appreciate the true conservative view about not using taxpayer money as done in the initial bailout bill vote but the conservatives never had a counter proposal unless it was let the economy collapse and everyone will suffer to punish the greedy, etc. Many can point the blame at everyone but we need solutions too.

I'm going to tell it like it is. There are some whites that will never vote for a Black man to do nothing. They will cheer for their favorite team, football, basketball, baseball, golf whatever. But when it comes down to them sitting at the same table with a Black Man and eating. Taboo! Not Way Hosea!
Unless you have walked in a Black Mans shoes, suffered ill treatment. Been refused food,or service ,or a job, or housing. Or gone to a hospital and been denied treatment. Sent to the back door. Stood up on the bus. Threatened ,beat hanged ,imprisoned because of your skin color. You do not have a Clue what it is to be Black in America. So for me ,I'm proud that someone that resembles me has a chance. I'm also proud for Sarah Palin , because she is a woman who has gone further than any other woman to run for VP. Does she have what it takes ? I don't think so. But yet she is there, that with in it self is an acomplishment for Woman! This is truely a FREE country. We can worship, live, work,be a bum, live on the streets, choose your sexual orientation and still be excepted. Dumb smart, whatever. But Be Black, and you are cursed by OUR society for ever. It does not matter how much money you have, where you live, what you drive. I'm still a Black Man,and that's putting it mildly. In the end WE will all stand before GOD, and Our race will not come into question!

This goes two ways and I am so sick of hearing ONE side of the story...
I am a white dude who grew up in the South Side of Chicago... I was beaten up, bullied, and had a knife to my throat by the time I was 13...
ALL by black people. Racism certainly goes two ways in this country, period. I have many friends (more black friend then white friends) but I was absolutely singled out for being white/italian/whatever...
My definition of racism is when any race is treated differently then another race.
BET, by definition (and I don't care about personalized agenda or excuses) is racism
Getting into college with lower standards BECAUSE of skin color (and not economic standing) is racism.
Affirmative Action is racism.
Also, I (a white male) used to get pulled over in black neighborhoods (Chicago is still sadly very segragated) all the time. No different then a black person in a white neighborhood. They thought I was buying drugs...
I had a bar tender at a local spot in Harvey Il tell me he wasn't going to serve my cracker-*** right to my face. My friends who I grew up with threw a fit and had my back.
So again it goes both ways, and the truth is that no black man will no what is like to a be a white person in a country that seems to hate the majority and make special rules for the minority. It goes both ways.
What I think is absolutely racist is that something like 93% (or whatever that NBC poll was) of black people registered to vote where for Obama. Why is that racist? Because if 93% of white people voted for McCain there it would be infaliable. Double standards=racism.
The fact that Obama (with no leadership skills and very shady past with ACORN/the Rev) can get this far and is leading in the polls it goes a long way towards showing how far the average American prioritizes race. They don't... (I'm not talking about small hick towns in the south, the same as I am not talkinga about the southside of Chitown).
If Obama doesn't win, it isn't because of racism...

I don't mind (didn't like) the inital bail out. Necessary evil, the banks need money to lend money, and our ecomony is based on credit...
Bailing out people who shouldn't have signed the dotted line.. stupid IMO and against everything I believe in...
