It means the solution of water + CG Citrus Wash & Gloss is slightly acidic, but nothing to worry about. pH is a measurement scale ranging from 0 to 14 and it's used to compare the level of acidity and alkalinity of various acids and bases and their diluted solutions. It's level is important for a number of reason (health, environment, etc). pH 7 is considered neutral (same as pure water at 25C). Solutions with less than pH 7 are considered acidic. Solutions greater than pH 7 are considered alkaline. For reference, your skin is about ph 5.5 and your saliva is about pH 6.5 to 7.5. At pH 5.5, some fish such as salmon, trout and whitefish start to die and salamander eggs fail to hatch. Acidity of pH 4 has a lethal effect on crickets and frogs. At the far ends of the pH scale, products can attack metals, glass, etc, and can have an adverse affect on your health. The bottom line is this CG product is fairly neutral and pH safe at these levels.

Fairly close to being neutral.

For example, there are some products wich are very acidic like Z8 and AW, and also the AJT, Carlack Long Life Sealant... and others are formulated to protect and are alkaline like CMW, Z2, Z5, etc...
The pH value will not indicate better or worst properties in the product.

I wonder why products are acidic and alkaline when they're meant to protect

I remember from CHemistry that our stomach acids are about 2 pH.

I can't find any reason to say that a product must be acidic or alkaline to protect.
I think the important is the composition.
