Awesome link, thanks

So then Z2 Pro, ZFX and Z6 or Z8 is what I need?

I've seen some use Klasse AIO and then Z2 on top, is that cool? Would the Z2 still need the ZFX?

sounds great and for the first coat or doing multiple coats in the same day, yes zfx is required.

How long do you have to wait between coats when not using ZFX?

Sean, what do you think is best on a dark metallic?

I'm annoyed at the fact that Zaino makes you buy ZFX if you want to apply multiple coats in a short time. Why couldn't they just include the chemicals in Z2 and Z5 during the manufacturing process? There are many products out there that have no curing time and comparable results. I'm just a little bitter because I bought ZFX a long long time ago and lost the little tiny bottle at some point.

24 hours between coats. I have layed after 12hrs without any problems without ZFX but the manufacturer's (Zaino) recommendation is 24 hours.

There are no "real" layerable products on the market that can be multiple layered within 24 hrs. Please name one sealant/wax that has a one-package that is instant curing and truely layerable in a one day detailing session.

ZFX allows multiple layering but must be added just prior to sealant before application. At the present time, like epoxy adhersives, no other route or pre-mixing is allowed.

I believe Sal is working on a one package Z2PRO and Z5PRO that has instant curing and layerable within one day. As normal, these new products will never see the light of the public day until both the new property (instant curing) and its present excellent appearance and durability are fully developed and extensively beta tested. So please do not ask when these products will be available if ever because of the complex chemistry involved and evaluation period.

Z5PRO x 3 topped with Z2PRO will look great on metallic blue (dark or light). The blue will be deep and wet and the Z2 will make the metallics explode.

Sorry you lost your ZFX.

Arrow blkZ28Conv...

how long did development last when Sal went from Z-2 to Z-2 Pro?

If you are testing durability this can be a long time especially for the polishes.

I'm going on 7 weeks on my medium blue 06 Civic, 3X Z5P and 2X Z2P. I love both looks. Just makes my paint look clean and bright at all times.

No reason to be bitter. Zaino works without ZFX. Zaino works better and longer with ZFX.

FK1 products have a sufficient anchoring/stability level to become layerable after their approx. 20 minute drying time. Even Carlack products have this needed stability after an hour. This needs typically 80% anchoring/bonding which ensures the necessary film stability.

Please post some manufacturer's references or usage recommendations. I would love to read this material.
TIA

One of these days I will have to try Zaino. It seems to get alot of great reviews. Unfortunately, with the tons of other sealants and carnuabas that I currently have I can't really see spending all the money for a completely new product line.

Maybe its me but the entire system to me is very confusing.
