As I said in a previous post, "this stuff hates water!". When present, it beads water like crazy.
Late today or tomorrow I will strip my hood again and tape it off into three section. I will test brand X, M and Z in a side-by-side showing water beading before Dawn wash and after Dawn wash.

However, since I started this conversation, I asked the chemist if he would provide more samples. He agreed. Six small sample bottles are on the way to me to distribute to testers. He agreed to 100 more samples after he has initial feedback from the first six testers.
If you would like to be a tester, here are the requirements:
1. Minimum post count 1,000 posts.
2. Reside in the USA.
3. Agree to test and post results within a week of receiving the sample.
4. Agree to participate in long-term testing prior to release of product.
I know the non-US members will be disapointed, but I promise to get at least 10% representation outside USA in round 2.
Please post here if you are interested. Samples will be shipped to testers next week. |

So, if it protects my car that is exposed to UV and weather 24/7, then I am all for it. For those of us that don't have garage queens, this product sounds like a winner!
On a side note, let me be the first to ponder that the mysterious formulation is from 4*. Anyone else care to guess? A free bottle to the winner?

In the interests of a more comprehensive evaluation !!! & of course American / European relations, it would be great to test this mystery sealant across the pond as well. As we get much more rain than you guys Stateside, (not to mention, the four seasons in one day), its the perfect place to start. From the home of your favourite tipple ... The Magic Black Stuff !!!
Regards,
Daragh. | |
