Just because of my current situation, I have to wonder how it would last against bird bombs and tree sap. I have no garage and the driveway in back where I park my beater is misted with tree sap and occasionally populated by a prolific flock. I'd love to protect it well, without having to worry about constantly keeping after it so I can concentrate my Autopian efforts on my newer car that I park out out front. I'd love a chance to test this stuff and could easily leave it on a car that I'm not going to feel compulsive about reapplying stuff on.

How did you determine when the sealant went from present to not present? We know that polished paint is glossy, beads water, and is slick. So whether the sealant is there or not, those characteristics should still remain.

Most sealants enhance each of those characteristics. The difference in those characteristics is the indicator.

David, does that mean that, all going well, you may be interested in marketing it in another line, or simply not interested in marketing it at all?

So polished, sealed painted should bead/sheet water better than just polished paint?

I'm just thinking like immediately afterwards, of course the sealed paint will bead and sheet for months afterwards.

I really do not think it is right to post a unkown product. That like saying I got the greatest sealant be I am not going to tell you what it is. Is this fair? ethical? Right for this forum? I say no. I know your all excited but why post a unkown product? By the way Looks fot me is what counts. Regards.

I think this post is more of an indicator in the evolution of the sealants that are being made.

Fair and ethical is up to David, he owns the place, jeesh.

I simply asked the question "How durable is too durable?". It was not my place to announce a product that is not mine to announce.

However, since I started this conversation, I asked the chemist if he would provide more samples. He agreed. Six small sample bottles are on the way to me to distribute to testers. He agreed to 100 more samples after he has initial feedback from the first six testers.

If you would like to be a tester, here are the requirements:

1. Minimum post count 1,000 posts.
2. Reside in the USA.
3. Agree to test and post results within a week of receiving the sample.
4. Agree to participate in long-term testing prior to release of product.

I know the non-US members will be disapointed, but I promise to get at least 10% representation outside USA in round 2.

Please post here if you are interested. Samples will be shipped to testers next week.
