Foam Gun Attachment Setup

This is how I use my foam gun. Since many are buying one I thought I'd share what works for me and what parts I use.

I no longer use my spray nozzle with my foam gun. I unscrewed the disconnect off of the nozzle and ditched the nozzle. The center piece in the pictures represents that disconnect. It has a huge hole so no water restriction.

I attach it to my Dramm shutoff valve on the right in the pictures. The Dramm has the best water flow and construction quality out of any one I have seen.

The foam gun is on the left in the pictures. It connects to the disconnect (in the center that used to be on the nozzle) which connects to the shutoff valve (on the right) which screws on the hose.

As you can see the spray nozzle is gone. MUCH easier to control, less fatigue on your hand and superb water flow.

Just pop off the foam gun and pop on your other instrument that has a male connector screwed on it like a regular nozzle.

Yep, that's the basic type of setup. Only difference here is my plastic Gilmour shut off valve with a dial type switch. This is the sort of arrangement I'd recommend anyone buying a foam gun to install right away.

Do you have links where to buy the quick connect and dramm shutoff valve in your photos?

The quick connect is what came with the foam gun. It is attached to the trigger sprayer. I simply unscrewed it and ditched the trigger spray.

I bought the Dramm on EBay. There are a couple other places online that you can search Google.

All the supplies that I'll need for a proper wash

shut off valve, quick connector, hose nozzle w/ attached male connector

rinse bucket plus wash mitts softening in soap water bucket

spraying off the wheels and tires

foaming up the wheels/tires

after

rinsing everything loose off the paint

foam pre-rinse

foaming up the wash mitt

gently gliding the mitt over the paint while spraying foam at the contact point.

enjoy!

Nice write up Neo! Great action shots!

I first quickly foam the area, dunk in a sudsy bucket then wash like you do with the gun.

I see you use the same setup as I do. It makes for such an easier way to hold the foamer without the fatigue of holding down the spray nozzle and the ache in the palm of your hand from keeping it held down.
